The Head of Risk & Quality leads a diverse group of functions, including Care & Support Quality Assurance, risk management, policy and training, financial compliance and risk management. They are accountable for all regulatory compliance and statutory assurance and monitoring activity for which the Customer Services directorate is responsible, and own all risk and assurance frameworks at a directorate level.

The Customer Services Directorate covers all of our frontline delivery of housing and social care services, and the Risk & Quality team work across all of these. However, the postholder needs to have particular knowledge, experience and expertise in Care & Support provision.

Depending on the specific experience of the successful candidate, you will likely be the CQC Nominated Individual and the Deputy Caldicott Guardian.

When the departing postholder took on this role, both the role and the majority of the team were brand new – both are now well developed and embedded in the organisation, and we’re excited to be looking for the next exceptional leader to join us, continue the journey of improvement, and support the organisation through what will undoubtedly be a busy and challenging few years ahead.

We expect you to be experienced in and aware of the challenges across adult social care and social housing right now, and able to hit the ground running in supporting our operational colleagues currently feeling the impact of these on their work to deliver for our customers. You’ll also need to be an exceptional leader, capable both of supporting your team of successful and established managers, and quickly building strong internal relationships as a subject matter expert providing support and challenge to peers and more senior colleagues.

We work flexibly, with main offices in central London (Farringdon) and Nottingham (Beeston Business Park). You will ideally need to be in an office (or otherwise on-site) 2-3 days per week, but can work flexibly outside of this. Our area of operation spans from South East England to South Yorkshire, but most travel will be in and around London, Nottingham and Derby.

Applicants (including internal) should provide a covering letter (one to two A4 pages) describing why you’re interested in this role, particularly considering the context outlined here; and an up to date CV showing relevant experience.

Final interviews will likely take place week of 7 August 2023, however we will be assessing applications on a rolling basis so encourage you to submit something as soon as possible.
